 Every diver that has ever taken a mask and snorkel as far as the front door knows that the best way transport it is in a gear bag. The diver's gear bag is the best way to keep the equipment together, organized and ready for action. There are many types of bags for different applications. Backpacks, RollerBags and Duffels are the most common types used for general application. Regulator and Specialty bags are also extremely helpful to the traveling and local diver alike. BackPacks Backpacks are one of the most efficient ways to carry your gear. They hold a lot of equipment, are light weight and are easy to handle wherever you go. They also allow you to carry your equipment on your back for hands free maneuvering through crowds or around a crowded boat deck. A large roller backpack (5500 cubic inches or larger) is great for traveling and check-in luggage for two sets of warm water gear or a single persons gear plus a lot of other clothing for a long trip. These are also great for one set of cold water gear with a thicker wetsuit or dry suit. Medium sized Roller Backpacks (3000 to 6000 cubic inches) are fantastic for a single set of equipment, warm or cold water. These bags are lighter in weight, more compact than their larger cousins and still hold a great deal of equipment. A mesh backpack is great for transporting your gear to and from the dive site once you have reached your destination. These are perfect for scuba gear (2500 Cubic inches or larger) or Snorkeling equipment (up to 2500 Cubic inches). These bags will keep all of your gear together and organized and allow you to rinse and dry your gear right through the bag. Smaller backpacks (day packs) are excellent for carrying your accessories and clothing that is going on the trip with you for the day, but not getting wet.  RollerBags RollerBags are fantastic for traveling near and far. They are built to handle tough conditions and heavy loads with comfort and ease. Many of them have handles so that they may also be carried like a duffel, but when the road is smooth, they can be set down and the wheels do all the work. Many models also convert to a backpack with shoulder straps that are hidden until they need to be used. This gives the traveling diver the best of both worlds for function and versatility.  Duffels Duffels are the most common type of bag out there, simply because of cost. These bags are easy to carry, come in a wide variety of sizes and materials, and are relatively inexpensive. Heavy duty duffels can be used for check-in luggage and will get a lot of gear a long way when going to exotic destinations. Mesh duffels are great for transporting gear to and from the dive site or operation and allow for rinsing and drying right through the bag. The advent of the wet/dry duffel gives the diver the advantage of two bags in one for wet gear in one area and dry goods in another.  Regulator and SpecialtyMany smaller bags are extremely useful to divers. Padded regulator bags keep the regulator itself safe and protected during travel and while being stored. They will also protect the computer or gauges and the safe 2nd or octo attached to the regulator. Camera bags keep all of your camera equipment organized and safe during travel and while on a trip. These efficient storage and transport systems allow the gear to remain ready for use at a moment's notice and safe from the rigors of travel and general storage. Some bags even have wet and dry spaces for increased utility and versatility. There are even dry bags for cell phones and radios.
